Growing the next generation of leaders - Aligning digital demand with supply

Abstract

The new generation of professionals in construction are going to fill roles that do not exist yet. What can we do to attract, integrate and keep this generation of professionals? How digital construction will be integrated to the roles of the existing professionals? The presentation discussed how roles and skills of future professionals in the construction industry change because of and for the Digital on both office setting and on site. The speech drew upon data from her ongoing study on BIM innovation champions and how learning and sharing knowledge in teams is equally if not more important than developing automation plug-ins and writing macros. Technology holds only part of the answer.
