Preparing for Digital Transformation Aligning Technology and Business

Abstract

Construction is currently undergoing a transformation that will disrupt our industry are we prepared? As part of its Industrial Strategy, Government has set the challenge to transform construction to make buildings more affordable, efficient, safer and healthier. The productionising of construction is having far-reaching impacts and this session will explore what this will mean for those involved in improving the performance of buildings.

This talk is problematising on how to create value through technology in use and the impact of digitisation in the construction industry. Two main questions were addressed (1) What does digital transformation mean for the construction industry? and (2) Is digital disruption inevitable and what can firms do about this threat?
